Following the death of a 32-year-old man on Stardust Racers, theme park experts are raising concerns about the ride’s intensity and safety protocols. The coaster, located in Celestial Park at Universal’s Epic Universe, features dual launches and near-weightless airtime moments.
Danny Cox, a veteran coaster analyst, described the ride as “unlike anything I’ve ever felt,” noting that the combination of speed and height could pose risks to guests with underlying health conditions.
The victim, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, died from blunt impact injuries, though the exact nature of the trauma remains unclear. Investigators are examining ride mechanics, restraint systems, and medical history.
Universal has expressed deep sympathy and confirmed the ride will remain closed during the investigation. Safety advocates are calling for enhanced guest screening and third-party ride audits.
